हिंदी भाषियों की अंग्रेज़ी में सबसे आम गलतियाँ
इस पेज में हम उन गलतियों को देखेंगे जो हिंदी बोलने वाले अंग्रेज़ी बोलते समय अक्सर करते हैं। ये गलतियाँ हिंदी व्याकरण, मिलते-जुलते शब्दों के भ्रम और उच्चारण की आदतों से आती हैं। हर गलती के साथ सही वाक्य, कारण और एक और उदाहरण दिया गया है।

हिंदी में हम कहते हैं 'मैं उसे 2010 से जानता हूँ', जो वर्तमान काल जैसा लगता है। इसलिए लोग 'am knowing' बोल देते हैं। अंग्रेज़ी में know जैसी क्रियाएँ continuous रूप में नहीं आतीं और 'since' के साथ present perfect आता है।
She has lived in Delhi for five years.
He is having two brothers.
He has two brothers.
हिंदी में 'उसके दो भाई हैं' को 'है' से बनाया जाता है और लोग उसे continuous में बदल देते हैं। अंग्रेज़ी में have का अर्थ 'रखना या होना' हो तो उसे continuous में नहीं बोलते।
My father has a small shop near the station.
I will tell you when he will come.
I will tell you when he comes.
हिंदी में 'जब वह आएगा' भविष्य काल में होता है, इसलिए लोग दोनों हिस्सों में will लगा देते हैं। अंग्रेज़ी में समय बताने वाले when, if, as soon as के बाद present simple आता है।
We will leave as soon as the rain stops.
I did my graduation from Delhi University.
I graduated from Delhi University.
हिंदी में 'ग्रेजुएशन किया' बोला जाता है, उसका शब्दशः अनुवाद 'did my graduation' हो जाता है। अंग्रेज़ी में graduate क्रिया का प्रयोग स्वाभाविक है।
She graduated from Mumbai University in 2018.

भारतीय अंग्रेज़ी में revert का अर्थ 'जवाब देना' समझा जाता है, जो गलत है। Revert का अर्थ है 'पहले की स्थिति में लौटना', और back जोड़ना भी अनावश्यक है।

He told me that he will come tomorrow, no?
He told me that he would come tomorrow, right?
हिंदी में 'न?' या 'है ना?' हर वाक्य के अंत में लग जाता है, इसलिए लोग 'no?' जोड़ देते हैं। अंग्रेज़ी में question tag वाक्य के अनुसार बदलता है, और reported speech में will की जगह would आता है।
She said that she would call me later, didn't she?

हिंदी में 'मैं सहमत हूँ' में 'हूँ' लगता है, इसलिए लोग am जोड़ देते हैं। अंग्रेज़ी में agree खुद एक क्रिया है, वह विशेषण नहीं है।

He gave me a lot of advice and information.
हिंदी में 'सलाहें' और 'जानकारियाँ' बहुवचन में आ सकती हैं, इसलिए लोग s लगा देते हैं। अंग्रेज़ी में advice और information अगणनीय संज्ञाएँ हैं और उनका बहुवचन नहीं होता।
