Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Verse at verse.academy and related services (the "Service"), operated by Verse ("we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Verse provides AI-assisted English speaking practice, including voice and text conversations, transcriptions, AI-generated replies, and language feedback. Features may change over time as we improve the product.

The Service uses artificial intelligence. AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Verse is for language practice and is not a substitute for professional education, legal, medical, or other professional advice.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you should use the Service only with permission from a parent or guardian.

You sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your Verse account.

You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate others or create accounts for abusive or fraudulent purposes.

Certain features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are offered on monthly and annual plans (pricing is shown on our website and billing page). Payment and subscription management are handled by Polar, our payment partner.

By subscribing, you authorize Polar to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Subscription fees are billed in advance for each billing period.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future charges; you will generally retain access until the end of your current billing period, subject to Polar's and our billing policies.

Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. We may change pricing for future billing periods with reasonable notice.

Some parts of the Service (such as our public demo) may be available without a subscription. Starting and continuing practice conversations in your account requires an active or trialing subscription, as shown in the product.

Subscribed accounts are subject to fair usage limits, including a monthly cap on AI-generated audio (currently 120 minutes per calendar month). We may adjust limits to protect service quality and sustainability.

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm others, or submit content that is hateful, violent, sexually exploitative, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service or our infrastructure.
• Share your account credentials or resell access to the Service without authorization.
• Use the Service to generate spam, malware, or automated bulk requests outside normal personal use.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as voice recordings and messages). You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service, including sending it to AI and infrastructure providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights needed to submit it.

The Service, including its design, software, branding, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or brand assets except as part of normal use of the Service.

You may delete individual conversations from your dashboard at any time.

You may delete your account from Settings. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it before account deletion. Deleting your account permanently removes your authentication account and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will meet your expectations or learning goals.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

We may modify or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in our place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
