Model answer

One tradition that strengthens family bonds in my country is the annual Lunar New Year reunion dinner. Every year, my extended family gathers at my grandparents' house to share a lavish meal. We prepare traditional dishes like dumplings and fish, which symbolize prosperity and abundance. This tradition is vital because it provides a dedicated time for family members, who may be busy with work or studies, to reconnect and catch up. For example, this past Lunar New Year, we shared stories about our achievements and challenges, which fostered a sense of mutual support and understanding. Moreover, the process of cooking together—making dumplings from scratch—encourages cooperation and passing down of family recipes. Such traditions create lasting memories and reinforce the importance of family unity. Without these occasions, many of us would rarely see each other, and our familial relationships would weaken. In essence, this tradition acts as an anchor in our busy lives, ensuring that family remains a top priority.
