reading habits
Practice questions
- 1.What role do printed books play in your reading habits compared to digital formats?
- 2.How have your reading habits evolved over the past five years?
- 3.Do you think reading for pleasure has declined among young people? Why or why not?
Model answer
In my view, printed books hold a special place in my reading habits, even though I frequently use digital formats for convenience. Printed books provide a tactile experience that enhances focus and reduces distractions, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the content. On the other hand, e-books are portable and offer instant access to a vast library, which is ideal for travel or quick reference. However, I find that I retain information better when reading a physical book due to the lack of screen-induced fatigue. For instance, studying academic materials is more effective for me in print, while light fiction is fine digitally. Ultimately, I believe both formats have unique benefits, and my habit is to choose based on context: print for deep reading and digital for casual or urgent needs.
