Model answer

I usually listen to indie pop and acoustic music, especially when I’m travelling or winding down in the evening. I like these styles because they tend to have memorable melodies and thoughtful lyrics, without feeling too intense. One artist I often play is a singer-songwriter whose songs tell small, relatable stories about everyday life. I find that kind of music easy to connect with, even when I’m in a different mood each time I listen. Music also helps me shape the atmosphere of my day. If I need to concentrate, I choose something gentle with few lyrics, because it is less distracting. On the other hand, when I’m exercising or doing housework, I put on upbeat tracks with a strong rhythm. They give me a bit of extra energy and make routine tasks feel less tedious. Overall, I’d say music is both entertainment and a way to regulate my mood. It can help me relax, focus, or feel more optimistic, depending on what I choose.
