Model answer

I’m particularly drawn to historical fiction because it combines an engaging story with a glimpse into how people lived in the past. I enjoy books that are carefully researched but still focus on believable characters rather than simply presenting a list of historical facts. That balance makes the setting feel vivid and helps me connect emotionally with the people in the story. One book I read recently followed a family through a period of major social change. What stayed with me was the way ordinary decisions, such as whether to leave home or speak up, could have serious consequences. The book also made me curious about the real events behind the plot, so I looked up some additional information afterwards. I usually read in the evening, when I can concentrate without distractions. Although I sometimes use an e-reader when I travel, I prefer physical books at home. Turning the pages and seeing my progress gives me a stronger sense of involvement. Overall, reading is both a relaxing escape and a way to learn about experiences that are very different from my own.
